Moabit, for a subletter
An island, literally: canals on every side, ten minutes from Hauptbahnhof, and still cheaper than anything of comparable centrality. Sublets are a mix of WG rooms and small whole flats. It is quiet in a way that suits some people and bores others, and the nightlife argument is settled by a fifteen-minute bike ride.
Getting one
Sublets in Moabit are advertised in Telegram groups, not on the portals, and they are answered within hours.
