The middle of the city and priced like it. Sublets here skew towards serviced and corporate — furnished studios let by the month to people on contracts, rather than a room going in someone's flat. That makes it the easiest district to find something in at short notice and the hardest to find something cheap in. If you want a WG room rather than an Airbnb with a rental agreement, look at the edges: Rosenthaler Platz northwards, or across the river into Friedrichshain.

Getting one

Sublets in Mitte are advertised in Telegram groups, not on the portals, and they are answered within hours. The three things that decide whether you get one are being early, writing to the poster like a person rather than pasting a template, and being able to say yes to the dates without negotiating them. Nothing else moves the needle much.

They are asking rents — what people advertised, not what was agreed — and a Zwischenmiete ask is usually furnished and all-inclusive, so it is not comparable with a Kaltmiete on a permanent lease.
