Friedrichshain, for a subletter
Boxhagener Platz, the RAW, and the highest turnover of any Kiez in the corpus. A lot of what gets posted here is a room in a shared flat for one to four months while someone travels, which is exactly the shape of the Zwischenmiete market. Competition is brutal and posts are answered within the hour — the reply you send in the first sixty minutes is worth more than any filter. Well connected: U5, the S-Bahn ring at Ostkreuz, and the M10 for everything the U-Bahn misses.
Getting one
Sublets in Friedrichshain are advertised in Telegram groups, not on the portals, and they are answered within hours. The three things that decide whether you get one are being early, writing to the poster like a person rather than pasting a template, and being able to say yes to the dates without negotiating them. Nothing else moves the needle much.
Before you send anyone money, read how not to get scammed subletting in Berlin. A deposit requested before a viewing is the single most common Berlin sublet fraud, and it is aimed squarely at people arriving from abroad on a deadline.
We read those groups hourly, pull each post apart into neighbourhood, rent, dates and type, and give you one feed filtered to Friedrichshain — or Friedrichshain plus whatever else you will accept — ranked against a paragraph you write about what you actually want. The first 7 days are free.
Where else Berlin is posting
Where these numbers come from
Every figure on this page is computed from the offers our scraper read in the public Berlin sublet groups over the window stated beside it. They are asking rents — what people advertised, not what was agreed — and a Zwischenmiete ask is usually furnished and all-inclusive, so it is not comparable with a Kaltmiete on a permanent lease. Cross-posts are folded to one. Medians are suppressed below five observations. The city-wide series is here, with a CSV.
