The busiest neighbourhood in the corpus, and the one most people mean when they say they are looking for a room in Berlin. Everything north of Hermannplatz is priced like Kreuzberg. Further down Hermannstraße and out towards Rixdorf prices drop noticeably. The volume cuts both ways: more options, and more posts from people who are themselves subletting a sublet, so ask who is on the contract.

Getting one

Most sublets in Neukölln are taken within hours of being posted, wherever they were posted. They are asking rents, meaning what people advertised, not what was agreed. A Zwischenmiete ask is usually furnished and all-inclusive, so it is not comparable with a Kaltmiete on a permanent lease.
